Sometimes, it isn’t about catching the biggest fish when we go out fishing. I like nothing better than getting up early, and heading down to the river for some peace a quiet while trying my luck. I’m not targeting big fish, just a bit of fun. When it comes to light and ultralight reels, Okuma Spinning Reels are some of the best, and my weapon of choice.
Most posts you read as you are searching for information on products are just about trying to sell you something. They might show a lot of items, but don’t have much information.

Okuma RTX
Delivering features commonly reserved for elite-level spinning reels, the all-new Okuma RTX family is the first to offer long-strand carbon fiber framing and premium aluminum gears at less than 100 MSRP. This makes ultra-light, ultra-powerful spinning reels more accessible than ever before.
The RTX series includes four high-speed, 6.0:1 models, the RTX-25S, RTX-30S, RTX-35S, and RTX-40S, with a focus on freshwater and light inshore saltwater applications. The Okuma C-40X long-strand carbon fiber frame and rotor system is headlining an extensive feature set.
Rather than a standard resin featuring powdered filler for strength, C-40X resins feature a mix of long carbon fiber strands, interwoven tens of thousands of times. By greatly enhancing the connections between all fibers, strength is increased by a factor of 50%. And because less resin is necessary overall, weight is reduced by 25% over standard graphite frames.
C-40X construction is visible when the reels are exposed to bright light. On the interior of the RTX, the Precision Elliptical Gearing system incorporates an anodized aluminum main gear, oscillation gear, and slider. Harder than brass and much more corrosion resistant, the drive system greatly enhances strength and longevity, while further reducing weight. A brass pinion gear is maintained to provide exceptionally smooth gear meshing and fluid performance.
Specs
