Sometimes, it isn’t about catching the biggest fish when we go out fishing. I like nothing better than getting up early, and heading down to the river for some peace a quiet while trying my luck. I’m not targeting big fish, just a bit of fun. When it comes to light and ultralight reels, Okuma Spinning Reels are some of the best, and my weapon of choice.

My aim, throughout this post, isn’t about trying to sell you anything, but instead, giving you all the information you need to make the right choice in your next purchase.

There are so many brands to choose from now, but when it comes to spin reels, Okuma is one of the best. You don’t need to spend a thousand dollars to get a great reel. The reels I have listed below are the best light spin reels Okuma has on the market.

Okuma Inspira

Inspira spinning reels for freshwater and inshore saltwater fishing showcase Okuma C-40X long-strand carbon fiber framing. The material is 50% stronger than traditional graphite reel frames and 25% lighter. These great reels are lightweight, agile, and powerful.

Choosing Your Size

Inspira blue spinning reels are available in 20, 30, and 40. The 20 size is perfect for light freshwater applications like trout, panfish, bass, and walleye. The 30 size is very universal and suitable for larger bass, steelhead, catfish, as well as saltwater species like trout and redfish. The size 40 offers the greatest line capacity for longer casts and bigger fish. Okuma Helios

Choosing your Size

The Ceymar spinning reel has a selection of 6 different sizes. The C-10 and C-20 the smallest of the range, are a great choice for fishing trout, crappie, bluegill, sunfish, and small perch.

Rather than a standard resin featuring powdered filler for strength, C-40X resins feature a mix of long carbon fiber strands, interwoven tens of thousands of times. By greatly enhancing the connections between all fibers, strength is increased by a factor of 50%. And because less resin is necessary overall, weight is reduced by 25% over standard graphite frames.

C-40X construction is visible when the reels are exposed to bright light. Okuma Epixor XT

Up next we have the Okuma Epixor Xt Lightweight Spinning Reel. The Expixor XT reels utilize advanced technologies to create both an exceptional feel and rock-solid durability. These spinning reels were designed with the latest technology and insight from leading fishermen around the country.

Choosing Your Size

The Okuma Epixor XT comes with many great options. You have the    EPXT-20, 30, 40, and 55 in the standard 5.0:1 ratio. Next are the EPXT-30S and 40S with a 6.0:1 ratio. Lastly, you have the option of the 55 with a power handle known as the EPXT-55p.

Okuma ITX Carbon Spinning Reels

I may have just left the best for last. The ITX Carbon spinning reels are lightweight, compact, and are, of course, also constructed of rigid C-40X long strand carbon fiber.

With a Quick-Set anti-reverse roller bearing stops the reel right where it’s supposed to, you never need to worry about the line going loose. The ITX reels all come with Cyclonic Flow Rotor technology which sweeps water away from the two-toned anodized machined aluminum spool. Another key feature is the machined aluminum, screw-in handle. This design keeps your handle running tight with no more loosening screws.
