I bought the Striker ICE Predator Jacket primarily for fishing. Not so much for ice, but for the cold mornings in the boat on the lake. Here, I’m sitting quite still for long periods, sometimes hours, waiting for bites.
The wind chill coming off the water can be near freezing. In this jacket, I hardly notice, and if anything, it can be a little too warm.
Warmth
This insulated fishing jacket features a balanced 100g of Thermadex Insulation, and cross-flow ventilation to keep you from overheating. Experienced and active ice anglers know that being cooler keeps you warmer in the long run. Stay dry from the inside out!
In addition to fishing, I like to do a lot of hiking and camping. This is where the 5,000g breathable technology shines. Sometimes I would cover miles of terrain and not feel I’m sweating like a pig under this jacket.
Moreover, I often camp in very cold areas, normally near the water, where the wind chill can cut you in half if you’re not properly protected.

Being waterproof, while still being very breathable was a big plus for me. There aren’t many jackets of this quality out there that can boast this same thing. Even when the storms come in, staying warm isn’t a problem.

Surefloat Technology
Surefloat technology can keep an average person afloat for up to 2 hours. This technology has saved numerous lives by providing men, women, and kids with the safety they need in inhospitable ice-fishing conditions. Additional reflective material provides extra safety and visibility.
I haven’t tried the surefloat technology at this point, as I’m not all that interested in going into freezing water. However, it is a great relief and peace of mind knowing that it is there. Technology has saved several lives over the years.

Value For Money
With this jacket, you get what you paid for. If all you bought it just for was the sureflote technology, you got your money’s worth. Even if you purchased this jacket for only one of its many features, it’s still great value for money.
From the waterproof and breathable aspect to the 320D tussor shell and thermadex insulation. With all these features in one jacket, it’s an unbelievable value.
Furthermore, the features don’t stop there. The StrikerICE also has several other accessories and features that further enhance its value for money.
Like the removable hood with memory-wire visor, inner lycra cuffs, fast-drain hems, reflective, magnet storm flaps, and several pockets for all of your fishing gear including an inner pocket for your phone. Pair this jacket with a good backpack and you’re all set.

As you can see, I don’t have many bad things to say about this jacket, as I haven’t found any yet. It might be a bit pricey, but is worth every penny, It has done everything I want in a jacket and more.
